Gettign Driver’s License in Australia

Suddenly, I had a situation to drive in Sydney.

Japanese restaurant I work in is quite large,
and the kitchen is divided into grill(tepan), tempura, sushi, and roll sections,
There is a separate bar section for drinks.

It was quite famous as there are 5 branches with slightly different names in City.

Before the restaurant opened, went to the Sydney Fish Market to get fish to use that day, with the purpose of providing fresh fish every day.

One of employee who drove every morning to go to the fish market suddenly quit.
There were not enough people to go to the fish market.

At the time, I had only a Korean driver’s license and no Australian driver’s license, but I knew that Australia would issue an Australian driver’s license with a Korean driver’s license and passport.

It’s not exactly a driver’s license, but an official document is issued to provide evidence equivalent to a driver’s license.

The application could be made at the Korean consulate in Sydney.

The Korean Consulate was located near Sydney City, QVB, so it was not difficult to find.

I never really thought about visiting a Korean consulate abroad.

It was strange to be able to perform official duties in Korean with Koreans even while living in Australia.

The movie ‘Joint Security Area, JSA’ that I enjoyed watching a long time ago was coming out.
I was sitting in an unfamiliar space, but even this was Korea to me.

I was able to get the license notary in the form of a certificate without waiting for a really long time.

Thinking that I could drive in Australia with this, I was excited because I felt like I was taking on a new challenge.
