Gloria Jean’s Coffees

In Australia, there are many local cafes rather than branded cafes, so it’s easy to find good coffee without going to Starbucks.

However, there is a brand coffee shop called Gloria Jean’s that is widely available in Australia.
It is seen more often than Starbucks, and the taste is not bad either.

Actually, Australian coffee is slightly different from the coffee in Korea in terms of the way it is made.

There is a coffee called Long Black that looks similar to an Americano, but there is a clear difference.
With an Americano, you pour water into a cup and then add pre-extracted espresso.
On the other hand, with a Long Black, you pour hot water into a cup and then extract the espresso directly into the cup.

That’s why you can see a thick layer of crema on top of the Long Black, which is not present in an Americano.

Recently, there are cafes in Korea that offer Long Black on their menu, but sometimes they taste similar to Americano, so you may feel disappointed.
