Taste King Crab at a Reasonable Price, HaeSin King Crab, Busan

Busan, being close to the sea,
definitely shows more raw fish restaurants compared to Seoul.
To exaggerate a bit, you can see a raw fish restaurant every 10 minutes of walking.

However, King Crab restaurants are not easy to find,
you can only find some around Gwanganri Beach or near Haeundae Station.
Perhaps because King Crab is a bit pricey and cannot be eaten frequently like raw fish.

There was a gathering with friends recently, and while considering what to eat,
the idea of eating crab came up, so we found this great restaurant, Haesin King Crab.

It’s a place where you can taste both King Crab and Lobster at the same time,

We came for the crab,
and today’s market price was 6,100 won per 100g.
I thought it was very cheap when I saw the price list, but it was per gram, not per kilogram.
When calculated per kilogram, it was 61,000 won.
Looking at it that way, it wasn’t cheap at all, but it was cheaper than other places.

The crab was from Russia,

There were five of us, and we bought five crabs,
the weight was a little over 5kg and it cost around 320,000 won.
A friend offered to pay for it, but it turned out to be quite a sum, more than expected.

At that moment when I felt sorry for suggesting crab suddenly,
my friend coolly footed the bill without making a fuss, which was reassuring.

We ordered the crab on the first floor,
and our group went up to the fifth floor of the building.
There was talk about it being crowded, so we made a reservation in advance,
but when we arrived, there were still tables available, so it seemed possible to get a seat without a reservation.

After about 20 minutes of waiting, the crab we ordered was delivered from the steamer to the table.
I felt sorry for the crab, but it looked so delicious.

For a moment of guilt, we hastily started eating the crab without hesitation.
It was so delicious that we didn’t care about the crab meat and juices getting on our hands, mouths, and faces as we hurriedly ate.

I’m always sincere about things like this.
We quickly finished every bit and proudly looked at the empty crab shells.
It felt like it had been a long time since I had eaten such delicious crab.

To eat crab, people often go to Donghae city, Eastern of South Korea.
Some usually go to Yeongdeok City near Donghae for Yeongdeok crabs,
but considering the time, effort, and transportation costs from Busan,
eating crab in downtown Busan wasn’t bad at all with this price.

It might not be something to eat often because of the price,
but I thought it would be nice to come and taste it for family events or important gatherings.

Maybe once a year wouldn’t be too bad?

It was an evening reminiscent of the crab ramen I had tasted a few years ago when I visited Vladivostok, Russia.
