On the way home from work

I walked for 40 minutes to get to work, and 40 minutes to get back home.
On days when I worked late, I often found myself walking alone on dimly lit streets.
It wasn’t dangerous, but there was a sense of loneliness that came with being alone.

Should I make a phone call?
I didn’t know it back then,
but if I were to express my feelings in a song now, Baek Ji-young’s “Tree-lined street at Dawn(새벽 가로수 길)” would be perfect.

The reality, however, is not a tree-lined street but my “late evening commute home.”
