Sydney is from the medieval period

Nowadays, I occasionally catch a glimpse of Sydney through YouTube videos or TV programs, and it looks different from when I was there.
It’s natural for a city to change over time.
However, the old buildings in Sydney seem to have remained unchanged.
So, when I see images of Sydney through videos, I feel happy.

The Three Monkeys Pub used to be the Bank of Australasia building.
However, the building has not been destroyed and is now being operated as a pub.
The pub’s name, Three Monkeys Pub, reflects the fact that there are three monkeys guarding the entrance.
It’s a cute feeling.
I went there and enjoyed live band performances and beer.
It’s a good place to have a casual night out.

There are many buildings in Sydney that remind me of the medieval period, and the harmony between old and new buildings is remarkable.
Foreigners visiting Seoul often say that the past and present coexist when they see the old palaces.
I also felt that way in Sydney.

Sydney City Hall, which used to be called Town Hall, is still being used for administrative work.
It seems that the name from when Sydney was called a town is still being used.
I always wondered what it would feel like to work in a building like this.
Although the interior is modern, the building itself has a sufficient resemblance to the medieval period.
The high clock tower is the point of attraction for Sydney City Hall.
Even though the building is old, the clock always points to the right time.

The city hall building has a long underground shopping arcade, and in the hot summer, could cool off by walking through the underground road and crossing George St. in front of World Square.

The QVB building next to City Hall also gives off a medieval vibe.
It’s located in the center of Sydney, and because of its magnificent scale, it feels like it takes you back to the Middle Ages, forgetting the modern look of Sydney for a moment.
Although there was nothing in particular to shop for, I would deliberately walk through QVB when passing through the city.

Even though there wasn’t enough time to go far, when there was a need to spend some time, I would stop by QVB and wander through the stores while window shopping.
I still feel very happy when I come across QVB in videos related to Sydney.

It’s been a long time since I left Sydney, but if I think that I can still see that view if I go back to Sydney, I would be very happy to visit again.
