There’s nothing like Australia
After returning to Korea, I graduated from university and struggled to find a job.
I worked hard as a young professional and lived a challenging life.
Then, by chance,
I was watching TV when I noticed a familiar place.
It was a promotional video promoting Australian tourism that was created by the Australian Tourism Board and aired on TV.
I worked at an online advertising company, and around that time, I saw this video a lot online along with the TV advertisements.
There’s nothing like Australia.
I know it well.
There’s truly no place as wonderful as Australia.
I really liked the copy.
At that moment when I was deeply fascinated by Australia,
and during a time when my professional life wasn’t easy,
this video made me want to drop everything and go back to Australia.
The music used in the video is still on my playlist.
Even now, when I watch this video or listen to this song,
I feel like I’m in Australia.
Afterward, there were various contents set in Australia.
In 2011, there was a scene in the KBS program “The Qualifications of Men” where they backpacked through the Australian Outback,
and in 2017, on tvN, there was a special episode of “Youth Over Flowers” where the members of WINNER visited Australia.
The video showed the clear sky and vast Outback, and I was even delighted to see the sound of birds chirping at the pedestrian crossing traffic lights.
And in May 2023,
recently, on tvN’s program “Busan Boys : Sydney Bound”,
I’m currently immersed in watching a scene where a celebrity from Busan goes to Australia for a working holiday experience, and it feels like I’m seeing myself at that time.
Even as time goes by, I hope more content will be created that allows me to reminisce about Australia.
