The Central and the IFC Mall in Hong Kong

I descended from Lan Kwai Fong and arrived in the bustling Central district.

Central District
During the day, the city center was crowded.
It truly felt like there were a lot of people in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Tram
In the narrow and bustling streets of Hong Kong, the double-decker tram seemed to be a very convenient mode of transportation.
I had seen the Hong Kong tram in old Hong Kong movies when I was very young, and it was nice to see that the appearance of those trams was still preserved.

IFC Mall
In 2012, I had heard that IFC Mall had just opened in Yeouido, Seoul.
There was also an IFC Mall in Central, Hong Kong, and I decided to visit here to escape the heat for a while.

IFC Mall featured various shopping centers and office spaces.
Moreover, beneath IFC Mall, there was a downtown airport where could do an early check-in.

Starbucks
I had a cup of coffee at Starbucks in IFC Mall.
An iced Americano cost 26 Hong Kong dollars, which would be approximately 3.5 USD when converted to the current exchange rate.

Dymocks
Dymocks bookstore, an Australian bookstore chain, was a familiar sight from Australia, so it was nice to encounter it again in Hong Kong.

Dim Sum
I decided to have a quick meal at a dim sum restaurant in IFC Mall.
Although I had wanted to try dim sum in Hong Kong, I hesitated due to the perceived complexity of ordering and eating.
However, upon discovering a dim sum restaurant in IFC Mall, I decided to give it a try.

Dim Sum
Using English and the pictures on the menu, I ordered the dim sum I wanted.
Dim sum (點心) means “touching the heart,” which I found to be a charming meaning.

Stuffed to the brim
Hong Kong’s dim sum was different from the dumplings we were accustomed to; here, you could distinctly feel the ingredients inside.
The filling, whether meat or shrimp, was juicy, providing a delightful texture.

Dim Sum Price List
The prices were reasonable, making it a good choice for a quick and satisfying meal.

After leaving IFC Mall, I headed towards the Chimsachui area.
I decided to take one more look around Hong Kong Island before concluding my trip.
